Guitar History
I joined band in 5th grade at River View Elementary School. To be honest, I joined
because it got me out of class for a half hour twice a week. My cousin, Aaron Flores, inspired me to pick up Drum set around
the same time. "Fuck that, I want to play up in front" was my mindset. So I began to pick up guitar around 8th grade, inspirited
by my other cousin Mike Flores. Since then, I’ve just been fooling around with the guitar and teaching myself.
I got my first guitar, Squire Strat, which is clearly one of the lowest line of guitars out there. I recommend
the Dean Vendetta. It’s an all around better guitar for the same price. My second guitar was about $300 and I still
don’t know what the hell it is. I got my line 6 spyder shortly after at an auction actually. I recommend this amp! Great
quality distortion with Great Clean sounds as well. Recently summer of ’08, I received my Epiphone Les Paul Custom (and
Customized it further)
I’ve been in more bands than I can list to be blunt about it. The only thing that matters now is that
I like metal and I’m a member in Jordan as well as Head-Hunter.
FINAL WORDS:
Guitar is brutal. You make a lot of friends with music; meet a lot of cool people. To the guitarists out there, LEARN JAZZ
and theory of jazz. If you’re looking to get increased speed, learn metal. Playing that light shit will get you skill
level only so far. There is always someone who is better than you in metal. Competitiveness is essential when aiming for higher
skill.
Always, Stay Brutal.
